26 March 2003 MEETING MINUTES

Next Meeting: 9 April, 2003

Present: Molly Wheeler, Tara Olivero, Traci Drummond, Erin Lawrimore, Dixie Owen, Daniel Alonzo, Aubrey Carrier, Ron Drees, Dr. David Gracy II, Ben Stone, and Brandon Burke.

Meeting called to order by Molly Wheeler, President, at 5:20 pm

I. Events

The EAD Workshop with Kris Kiesling is on schedule for Friday, April 4, in SZB 546. Spaces are still available. Anyone interested in attending should contact Erin to RSVP.
Molly spoke to Tony Rees regarding the Archives and Copyright talk. The date is tentatively set for Thursday, April 17 at 5:30 p.m. Location will be determined at a later date.
Traci reported that Linda Peterson from the Center for American History is available and willing to give the Photo I.D. Workshop. This will probably take place during the first two weeks of May.
Accommodations have been arranged for the first night of the Mexico trip.

II. Mugs

The chapter has decided to order mugs through the company Ron suggested. The current board will place the order by the end of the year, allowing the next board to start fundraising right away.
Traci suggested donating leftover mugs to the Society of Southwest Archivists' scholarship auction. Dr. Gracy recommended that two should be sufficient.
In addition to mugs, the chapter has a box of magnets to be given away at future events.

III. Next Meeting

The next meeting will be held Wednesday, April 9, at 5:15 in SZB 556. By this time the new board should be elected, and the current board will facilitate a transition of authority.
Current officers should submit their annual board reports to Molly by Wednesday, April 30.
Dr. Gracy, Molly, and Traci reminded members of upcoming application deadlines for internships at Navarro College, the Ransom Center, and the Center for American History, respectively. Information about these opportunities can be found at the iSchool Career Services website.

The meeting was officially adjourned by Molly at 5:58 p.m.
