In 1997, the American Library Association initiated a ground-breaking and innovative attempt at creating a change in the demographics of the workforce when ALA Council approved the expenditure of $1.35 million toward the Spectrum Initiative. This Web site summarizes the activities involved in conducting the Longitudinal Study of the Spectrum Initiative.
